We are a dental practice specializing in Prosthodontics. A Prosthodontist is a dentist with additional years of schooling. The additional dental school training provides the doctors with training of replacing missing teeth. This can include dental implants, dentures, crowns, partial dentures and fixed bridges. We specialize in restoring esthetics, function (chewing ability) and comfort for the patient. We can offer fixed and removable options for most of our patients. We are devoted to restoring and enhancing the natural beauty of your smile using conservative, state-of-the-art procedures that will result in beautiful, long lasting smiles!
We combine over 40 years of experience in the specialty of prosthodontics with a heavy commitment to learning new techniques, inorder to provide the best possible solution for your dental condition. We provide comprehensive treatment planning and openly discuss all options, their cost and their prognosis in meeting your needs. Should a dental emergency occur, we make every effort to see and care for you as soon as possible.
In-House Dental Laboratory
We have on our staff, two certified dental laboratory technicians with a combined 25 years experience in the field. This allows us to fabricate many of the appliances for your tooth replacement in house. The advantage is that we don't have to send things across town or across the country to be fabricated or changed. Also the technicians usually get to meet you and have a better understanding of your needs and goals while they are making your restorations. We are committed to doing a thorough job in a timely manner. We also have the ability to do repairs during business hours while you wait if an emergency breakage occurs.
CT Imaging in Office
Drs. Scruggs and Molina are committed to utilizing the latest technology to provide patients with the best care and most comfortable experience. Precise in office CT diagnostics, which are relatively rare in the Raleigh area, allow the doctors to take pinpoint measurements of bone and oral structures. For patients, that means natural placement and very little need for bone grafting and minimal discomfort.
Education & Prevention
As a practice, we are true believers that preventative care and education are the keys to optimal dental health. We strive to provide “dental health care” vs. “disease care”. That’s why we focus on thorough exams – checking the overall health of your teeth and gums, performing oral cancer exams, and taking x-rays when necessary. To this end we provide an experienced dental hygienist to help insure that your investment is staying healthy and functioning properly. Not only are we focused on the beauty of your smile, we’re also concerned about your health. A review of your medical history can help us stay informed of your overall health, any new medications, and any illnesses that may impact your dental health.
Training & Expertise
As your dental health professionals, we want you to be confident knowing that we are a team of highly trained and skilled clinicians. Restorative dentistry is currently in a state of rapid change due to the advent of successful dental implants. To keep up with this rapid change our entire staff attends lectures and conferences throughout the US that enhance our abilities. Through this effort we keep informed of new techniques, the latest products, and the newest equipment that a modern dental office can utilize to provide state-of-the-art dental care. Dr. Scruggs is a member of the American Dental Association, the NC Dental Society, Past President of the Raleigh/Wake County Dental Society, Past President of the SE Academy of Prosthodontics and member of the American College of Prosthodontics. Dr. Scruggs has also been a part time faculty member at the UNC School of Dentistry for the past twenty years and currently lectures in the southeast on the field of dental implants.
Infection control in our office is also very important to us. To protect our patients and ourselves, we strictly maintain sterilization and cross contamination processes using standards recommended by the American Dental Association (ADA), the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and the Center for Disease Control (CDC).
