Paul E. Scruggs. DDS

Dr. Paul Scruggs specializes  in Implant Dentistry and Prosthetics.  He received his 

undergraduate degree and dental degree from the University of Missouri at Kansas city in 1981.  

Dr. Scruggs completed his Prosthodontics training at the University of North Carolina School of 

Dentistry in 1986.  He served in the U.S. Military starting with active duty US DENTAC in 

Ft. Bragg from 1981-1984, the US Army Reserve from 1984-1989, and the NC National Guard 

from 1998-2005.  His duties ranged from general dental officer to acting commander of all 

medical/dental operations.  Dr. Scruggs retired in July 2005 as Deputy State Medical 

Commander.  He attained the rank of full Colonel (O-6).  From 1986-2005, Dr. Scruggs also

served as an Associate Professor at the UNC School of Dentistry.

Dr. Scruggs is a member of the American Dental Association, the American College of 

Prosthodontics and the Raleigh/Wake County Dental society.  He also was the President and

Past-President of the Academy of Southeastern Prosthodontists.  Since 2005, Dr. Scruggs  

has lectured for Nobel Biocare, the world's largest dental implant company,  on various topics in

 restorative and implant dentistry.  

Tony Molina, DDS

Dr. Molina specializes in Implant Dentistry and Prosthetics.  He received his Bachelor of

Science degree in Zoology from Duke University and his dental degree and a masters 

degree in Prosthodontics from the UNC Shool of Dentistry.  He was an Assistant Professor

in the Department of Prosthodontics at the UNC Shool of Dentistry.  Dr. Molina joined the 

faculty in 1995 after serving seven years in the United States Air force Dental Corps.  

Dr. Molina's main teaching responsibility is directing the pre-clinical Fixed Prosthodontics 

curriculum for second year D.D.S.  students at Committee, the Administrative Board, and the 

Faculty Council for the university.Dr. Molina maintains an active faculty practice and 

participates in Clinical implant research trails.  He is a member of the American College of

Prosthodontics.  In 1999, he received the Richard F. Hunt Excellence in Teaching Award.

Dr. Molina also currently holds the rank of Colonel in the North Carolina Army National Guard.
